Our 4 Favourite Things about New Zealand

New Zealand has to be one of the top destinations to visit in your lifetime as it’s a truly amazing country with activities to suit every traveler.

Whether you’re after a more laid-back relaxing break or an adrenaline-fuelled adventure, you can’t go wrong with this as your destination.

Depending on where you’re traveling from it can be an extremely long flight but don’t let this put you off as it's definitely worth the travel time. Here we’ll let you know our 4 favorite things about New Zealand so you’ll know just what’s waiting for you.

Scenery

New Zealand is truly a naturally beautiful country, home to some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery. The likes of which you’ve only seen in films with probably the most famous one being The Lord of the Rings.

Here you’ll find volcanic cones, the Kawiti Caves, and the Fox Glacier to name just a few. The diversity of the landscape is reason enough to visit, with mountains, lakes, beaches, and cities spread across this wonderful country.

Adrenaline Activities

New Zealand is the home of some of the world’s most adrenaline-inducing sports. The first one that springs to most people’s minds would have to be skydiving and it’s so popular here thanks in part to the amazing scenery which we talked about above. You can skydive all over the country with some popular places being Queenstown, Wanaka, and Auckland.

Skydiving can be one of the most exhilarating things you do in your life but if you need to work your way up to it then how about a bungee jump, this is the spiritual home of the bungee you won’t be disappointed, trust us.

If you don’t feel like throwing yourself out of a plane or off a bridge then there are many other sports you can try here such as white water rafting, zip-lining, zorbing, caving, and sand boarding to name a few.

You’ll be hard-pressed to not find an activity you want to try before you leave here but as you’re only here once why not try as many as you can, the whole point of travel is to get out of your comfort zone.

Work and Travel

Depending on where you’re from in the world you could be able to easily get yourself a working holiday visa, similar to the working holiday visa available in Australia. This is a must if you’ve already experienced a New Zealand Holiday and would now love to stay longer.

Choosing this route will allow you to work for 12 months or up to 23 months if you’re from the UK or Canada. Allowing you to truly explore everything this country has to offer without bankrupting yourself. Why not work for a few weeks to pay for that next skydive or bungee jump instead of raiding your savings.

Working not only helps to pay for your activities but it allows you to slow things down and really take in the atmosphere of the country, meet some local people and create even more memories.

Wildlife

New Zealand is home to a huge range of wildlife that you’ll definitely want to see before you leave, everything from whales, penguins, seals, dolphins, and many more.

One of the top animals to see out of all of them though has to be the Giant Sperm Whale found at Kaikoura, simply because they are breathtaking creatures to witness in their natural habitat. Plus they are there all year round, so there’s really no excuse not to see them.

Another highlight is the chance to swim with seals, this is a unique experience that will leave you in awe at just how amazing the wildlife here really is.
