Let’s Visit Hua Hin

If you are planning a trip to Thailand anytime soon and want to try somewhere new then maybe the seaside town of Hua Hin is where you should be looking to go. Just two and a half hours drive from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, this quiet and relaxing seaside resort is perfect for couples and families. But what makes it so special and different from other Thai resorts?

Well, the first thing to know about Hua Hin is that it is a royal resort and since 2007 the Klai Kangwon Palace located here has been the full-time residence of the current Thai King. This coupled with the proximity of the resort has helped it become the favorite weekend retreat of the Thai people living in Bangkok. You may also be interested to know that the local and provincial authorities have undertaken a commitment to ensure that this beautiful resort does not go the same way as the other, extremely overdeveloped, resorts. Any building and development that takes place here have to meet rigorous standards and not impact or interfere in any way with the local wildlife, flora, and fauna. So what can visitors expect when they arrive?

Well, as you would expect the beach on Hua Hin is 5kms of gorgeous white sand, dotted with palm trees and tasteful resort hotels. There is officially only one actual beach on Hua Hin, but within walking distance, you can visit the Suan Son beach, which is owned by the Thai military but open to the public, and also a wonderful small beach that is perfect for swimming on the south side of Khao Takiab.

If you prefer your holiday to have a little more action, you may be pleased to learn that Hua Hin is a golfer’s paradise. There are more than 7 good quality golf courses around the resort, that are easily accessible and each one has stunning greens and fairways you will be able to rent equipment for a very reasonable price.

If you prefer something a little more relaxing then head for one of the Spas to spend some time having every inch of you pampered. There are treatments to suit every budget and you can choose from small family-run Spas all the way up to the world-renowned Chiva Som Spa.

You will also be able to hop on one of the many boats at the harbor and try your hand at sea fishing, or you can take an eco-cruise to discover more about the lovely resort. Just west of the town there is an elephant camp where you can help the staff give them a bath and their dinner or even take an elephant safari.

Hua Hin has something for everyone whether they are looking for an active holiday or somewhere to totally relax and forget the strains and stresses of everyday life. This is like going back in time and the locals will welcome you with open arms and do all that they can to help ensure you have a holiday to remember. So what are you waiting for?
